Oxford Nanopore Technology[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Nicki Adams is a Field Application Scientist for Oxford Nanopore Technology and is based in Cape Town, South Africa.<\/p>\n
She obtained her PhD in the field of Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of Cape Town and remained in academia for a few years doing research at the University of Warwick and University of Cape Town.<\/p>\n
She joined the Centre for Proteomic and Genomic Research (CPGR) which offers Biotechnology services to both academic and private customers. She was an integral part of setting up a diagnostic division of the CPGR, Artisan Biomed, which provided screening services for NIPT and Oncology panels using short read NGS technology.<\/p>\n
To gain a better understanding of NGS library preparation technology, she joined Roche DIA Cape Town as part of the Research and Early Development (RED) team. She focused on improving and innovating KAPA RNA Library Preparation products in addition to other products i.e. DNA Library Preparation, Target Enrichment, and accessory products (KAPA Library Quantification, KAPA HyperPure Beads and KAPA HyperPlex Adapters).<\/p>\n
She is passionate about transferring the knowledge she has gained as both an end-user and researcher to train and empower fellow scientists to realise their molecular sequencing goals.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n
