Sir Mark Walport, director of the Wellcome Trust, will deliver the 12th annual David E. Barmes Global Health Lecture at the National Institutes of Health. Walport, recently named the United Kingdom\u2019s next chief science adviser, has titled his talk \u201cGlobal Health: from John Snow to Genome Science.\u201d He will discuss the power of genetics in understanding infectious diseases and explore how global health can best be supported.
